I have an Office Jet Pro 8710. I've done all the troubleshooting including updating drivers, unplugging, plugging in, removing cartridges yadda yadda and my printer still won't print. When I did do the resets it made a sound like it started to print, then reverted back to initilizing/Maintenance in Progrss. HELP

Hi @WLMATX ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you've already tried several troubleshooting steps, but if your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 is still stuck in the "Initialize and Maintenance in Progress" state, try the following additional steps:
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord, and wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
- Check if the issue persists.
Update Firmware:
- Make sure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Visit the HP Support website, enter your printer model, and download the latest firmware if available.
- Follow the instructions provided by HP to update the firmware.
Check for Obstructions:
- Open the printer cover and check for any obstructions like paper jams or foreign objects.
- Ensure that the print carriage can move freely.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
Printer Self-Test:
- Print a self-test page directly from the printer's control panel to check if the hardware is functioning correctly.
- Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a self-test.
Clean Cartridge Contacts:
- Turn off the printer.
- Remove the ink cartridges.
- Clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer using a lint-free cloth.
- Reinstall the cartridges and turn on the printer.
Factory Reset:
- If an Issue persists you may perform a factory reset on your printer. Please note that this will erase all custom settings.
- Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-

I tried all of these suggestions and none of them worked.
I rely on a printer daily for work and it's unacceptable that it took 4 days to hear back from HP. You left me no choice but to throw the printer in the trash and, based on the lack of customer support from HP, I purchased a brand new Brother Laser Printer. Per Consumer Reports, Brother has the highest customer satisfaction rating of any other brand. HP came in next to last place. I will NEVER purchase another HP product. I can't be happier with my new printer.
