HP Smart Tank 5101 All-in-One Printer

My printer continues to be stuck in printing same picture over and over about 50 in count now. I've tried everything I know!!!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

 

Try these steps:

Cancel All Print Jobs

Cancel Print Jobs from Printer:

  • On the printer control panel, press the "X" or "Cancel" button to stop the current print job.

Cancel Print Jobs from Computer:

  • Open the print queue on your computer.
  • Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > HP Smart Tank 5101 > See what's printing. Right-click on the current print job and select Cancel.
  • macOS: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > HP Smart Tank 5101. Click Open Print Queue and cancel the current print job.

Restart Printer and Computer

Restart Printer:

  • Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.

Restart Computer:

  • Restart your computer to clear any pending print jobs and refresh connections.

Check for Stuck Print Jobs

  1. Check Print Queue:
    • Ensure there are no stuck print jobs in the print queue of your computer.
    • Clear any remaining print jobs as described in Step 1.

Reconnect Printer to Network

  1. Reconnect Printer:
    • Ensure your printer is connected to your Wi-Fi network correctly.
    • On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Settings > Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the instructions to reconnect.

Update Printer Firmware and Software

Update Printer Firmware:

  • HP regularly releases firmware updates with fixes and enhancements. Ensure your printer firmware is up to date.
  • Visit HP Support - Firmware Download and enter your printer model "HP Smart Tank 5101" to download and install the latest firmware.

Update Printer Software:

  • Visit the same link above, make sure your printer software on the computer is up-to-date.
