Recently I bought a new Envy Photo 6220 printer. I installed it succesfully using the setup-cartridges. After a while I replaced the black setupcartridge with an original HP 303XL-cartridge. The printer was working fine, but after printing about 40 pages the printer suddenly starts asking for the setup-cartridges. The color-setup cartridge is still in the printer but I threw away the back-setup cartridge when replacing it with the 303XL-cartridge.

I already tried cleaning the cartridges, doing a hard reset but nothing works. When I turn on the printer it immediately asks for the setup-cartridge and that's it.

Can you help me solve this problem (maybe the procedure for overriding the need for a setup-cartridge will do the trick??)

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. I've been out for a couple of days so it took a few days before I could give you a reply. Unfortunately the suggested solution does not work.

After pressing the buttons in the given sequence and opening and closing the printer-cartridge door the printer immediately asks for the setup cartridges and nothing more happens. The load-paper message does not appear on the screen and initialisation does not start. I repeated the suggested steps more than ten times and still nothing happens. The printer keep asking for the setup-cartridges....I hope you have an alternative solution.

 

By the way: I found out that pressing the back-button four brings brings up the Support-menu. Maybe something can be done with the options in that menu??

 

I hope to hear form you soon. I really need the printer this weekend!
