Hi @S226, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the flap for the paper tray on your HP Envy 6455e is stuck and won’t retract, try these steps to fix it:

Check for Obstructions

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from power.
  • Gently inspect the paper tray and the surrounding area for any jammed paper or debris that might be preventing movement.

Manually Adjust the Flap

  • Apply gentle pressure while trying to push the flap back in.
  • If it resists, slightly wiggle it side to side to see if it loosens up.

Check for Broken or Misaligned Parts

  • Look inside the tray area for any broken plastic parts or misaligned hinges.
  • If you notice something out of place, try to realign it carefully.

Reset the Printer

  • Unplug the printer for 1-2 minutes and then plug it back in.
  • Turn it on and check if the flap retracts normally.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
