Hi @JvdWissel
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
I truly understand how frustrating this issue is, and I appreciate your patience while going through these steps. I know dealing with errors can be exhausting, but I hope one of these solutions helps get everything working correctly.
Let’s take this step by step to resolve the HP OfficeJet 8014 update failure (error code 0x80070103).
Step-by-Step Solutions to Fix the Update Error
Step 1: Check if the Update is Necessary
Sometimes, Windows Update tries to install drivers that are already installed or that aren't needed for your device.
- Go to Settings > Windows Update > Update History and check if this driver update has already been installed.
- If your printer is working fine without issues, you may be able to ignore the update altogether.
Step 2: Install Drivers Manually
Since the update is failing via Windows Update, manually installing the correct drivers can bypass the issue.
- Visit HP’s official support page for your printer: HP OfficeJet 8014 Drivers.
- Download the latest driver package for Windows 11.
- Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Restart your computer and test your printer.
Step 3: Hide the Faulty Windows Update
If the update keeps failing and reappearing, hiding it will stop Windows from attempting installation repeatedly.
- Download Microsoft's Show or Hide Updates Troubleshooter from this link.
- Run the troubleshooter and select Hide Updates.
- Locate the HP driver update causing the issue and select it to hide.
- Restart your computer—Windows should no longer attempt to install the update.
If the issue persists, don’t hesitate to reach out again—I’ll be here to assist in any way I can! 💙
If my response helped, please mark it as an Accepted Solution! ✅ It helps others and spreads support. 💙 Also, tapping "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" makes a big difference! Thanks! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
