Hi @JvdWissel

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I truly understand how frustrating this issue is, and I appreciate your patience while going through these steps. I know dealing with errors can be exhausting, but I hope one of these solutions helps get everything working correctly.

Let’s take this step by step to resolve the HP OfficeJet 8014 update failure (error code 0x80070103).

Step-by-Step Solutions to Fix the Update Error

Step 1: Check if the Update is Necessary

Sometimes, Windows Update tries to install drivers that are already installed or that aren't needed for your device.

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update > Update History and check if this driver update has already been installed.
  • If your printer is working fine without issues, you may be able to ignore the update altogether.

Step 2: Install Drivers Manually

Since the update is failing via Windows Update, manually installing the correct drivers can bypass the issue.

  1. Visit HP’s official support page for your printer: HP OfficeJet 8014 Drivers.
  2. Download the latest driver package for Windows 11.
  3. Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Restart your computer and test your printer.

Step 3: Hide the Faulty Windows Update

If the update keeps failing and reappearing, hiding it will stop Windows from attempting installation repeatedly.

  1. Download Microsoft's Show or Hide Updates Troubleshooter from this link.
  2. Run the troubleshooter and select Hide Updates.
  3. Locate the HP driver update causing the issue and select it to hide.
  4. Restart your computer—Windows should no longer attempt to install the update.

If the issue persists, don’t hesitate to reach out again—I’ll be here to assist in any way I can! 💙

If my response helped, please mark it as an Accepted Solution It helps others and spreads support. 💙 Also, tapping "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" makes a big difference! Thanks! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
