Welcome to the HP Forums, this is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you are unable to print in color, though it copies in color. I would like to help you resolve this issue.

However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,

  • Did you do any changes to the printer driver?
  • Did you run any updates on the computer?

Meanwhile,  Uninstall the printer driver and reinstall it.

Perform root level uninstalltion to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.
  • Restart the PC again.

Download full feature driver and install it.

Here is the link to download the driver:- https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL29976/al-109084-2/DJ_AIO_NonNet_Full_Win_WW_140_404-4.e...

Update the printer firmware

Here is the link of HP document with the steps to update the printer firmware:- https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16

Restart the printer and check if you are able to print in color.

Take care and have a blessed week ahead.

Keep me posted.

Cheers.
