Why can't I print from download or from my computer screen. I have to save the document then open the HP Smart App, print docs, and print from there.... this is 2024 and that is too many steps!! Also, printing from cell phones is almost nonexistent if we are at home. But if we are away from home... works like a charm!! So confused. Please help (and don't tell me to turn it off and restart... I already did that!).

Hi @Valoree,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9135e isn't printing properly over Wi-Fi from your computer and mobile devices at home, but works fine when you're away.
Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this issue:
- Check Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure that your printer and computer/mobile device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Sometimes, devices can inadvertently connect to different networks or a guest network.
- Restart Devices: Although you've already restarted, ensure both your printer and your computer/mobile device are powered off completely, then turn them back on. This can sometimes resolve temporary communication issues.
- Update Firmware and Software: Make sure your printer's firmware and HP Smart App (or any other printing software you're using) are up to date. HP often releases updates to improve functionality and fix bugs. Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Check Printer Settings: In the HP Smart App or printer settings on your computer, verify that the printer is set as the default device and that it's online and ready to print.
- Firewall/Antivirus Settings: Occasionally, firewall or antivirus software can interfere with printing. Temporarily disable them (if safe to do so) to see if it resolves the issue. Remember to re-enable them after testing.
- Network Configuration: Check your router settings to ensure that it allows devices to communicate with each other over the network. Sometimes, security settings or network configurations can block communication between devices.
- Reinstall HP Smart App: If the issue persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Smart App or any other printing software you use. This can sometimes resolve software glitches.
- Reset Printer Network Settings: On your printer, you can usually find an option to reset network settings. This will clear any stored Wi-Fi preferences and allow you to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
