I have an hp printer, model cp2025 that I bought in 2010.
Problem - I can print a few sheets of paper, and then the printer will no longer print. Instead, the printer starts calibrating and won't stop. Jobs are not stuck in the print queue and no error codes appear on the printer.
I tried resetting the printer by unplugging it, keeping it unplugged for 5 minutes and then plugging back in. This does reset the printer, and I can print again. But, I can print only a few sheets before the problem happens again.
Any suggestions?

Check the condition of your pickup roller. Based on the age it may be worn to the point that it is not feeding reliably and that can trigger the cleaning mode. The roller should have fine fingerprint like ridges on it. You can find videos on YouTube on how to rotate the pickup roller through the secondary service menu so you can see it and change it if worn.

It's a so called "Sticky Solenoid" problem and it's a hardware problem and has nothing to do with software or firmware.
If you want to fix it yourself check here.
