Hello @katina12872, Hope you are well!
Welcome to the HP Forum! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips.
I understand you are having trouble while printing from your PC. I would certainly help you fix this issue.
Did you install the printer drivers for this printer? If not, first install the printer drivers. Click on HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads to download and install the drivers.
Try to print from your desktop now. If you still face any issues, try to fix this issue using HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR). PSDR is an automated tool which can diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. Please go to http://hp.care/2bZ9w2q to download and run HP PSDR.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.
Cheers 🙂

I've also been having this issue with my HP Envy 4520. I can print from my mobile phone but I can NO LONGER print from my computer as I have before. Today I started having this issue. It's infuriating because I use my printer for business. I have to be able to print documents in a timely manner. 2 days ago it worked perfectly fine and now all it does is print an internal test page (from the print doctor application). It tells me that there is a problem with the printer software I have installed. I've downloaded and installed the software twice now from the HP website and I've gotten the same error message both times. Is there something wrong with the software I've downloaded? What's going on on my end? This is so confusing, and frustrating. I've had to skip regular scheduled events today to troubleshoot this.

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.
As I understand the printer will only print from mobile device, not from the PC,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
Did you install the basic drivers for your printer? or was it the full feature software?
While you respond to that, If you've already done the steps suggested by the last tech,
I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and retry, follow the steps below:
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Then, Click here to download the basic drivers and install it.
Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.

I did as suggested and had no success. I also had two HP techs take control of my computer and go thru it. It printed a document and we thought it was fixed. It quit printing again. I bought a cable and connected it to the printer thinking I could print from that. No luck! Here is the problem: I can print from my tablet and phone wirelessly. Not from the computer it gets hung up in the printer. When I turn off the computer and back on, the print queue clears out and prints the documents. Then when I try to print to the printer either wirelessly or with the cable I am back to square one. I need my computer with the tax season starting up..... I don't think the problem is with the printer - I believe it is with the computer. Anyways, I am getting very discouraged. Any suggestions???
