This worked for me too!! Thank You!

My support company for our fleet of printers has found that apple removed one of the certificates for the HP printers which is what is causing this underlying issue.  Haven’t resolved yet but getting closer

Worked for me! Thanks ... but what screwy work around. I have a MAC running Catalina 10.15.7 with an HP 377dw page wide printer.

Very nice. This solution worked well. Only question is how to change mobile device (iPhone and iPad) to be able to print without the squares. These devices still air print and the squares a re printing. At least I can now print from computer but wondering if a solution across the network is coming? Many thanks.

Hello,

I had the same issue, this is what worked for me across different devices whether they are IOS or not:

1. Go to your printer and press the settings symbol

2. Scroll until you find Print Settings and click on it

3. Scroll to PCL Setting and click on it

4. Scroll to Symbol Set and click on it

5. Scroll to Roman-8 and select it

My printer was set on PC-8 and the switch to Roman-8 worked for me. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for your help. I spent about 6 hours BEFORE I found your message. I went to HP web site downloaded ALL of their nonsense and products but NOTHING helped, of course!!! You are the ONLY one that helped! It worked flawlessly. My only problem with your instructions was "select my printer". I had to type into the dialog box "my printer". It threw me off but I eventually figured out I needed to type those words in the dialog box.  So thankful that there are people like you to sincerely help!

Thanks again
