HP Smart Tank 6001 All-in-One
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Model 6001. When I press print, it says there is an issue. It will not print, and cancels the job. All the reports from the printer say everything is working fine. Online, connected to Wifi, etc., but it still won't accept the print job from the computer. It had worked fine for almost 2 years, and then it just quit working. It prints the printer status reports from the printer, so I know it is capable of printing.

Hi @BigMon

We request you try below steps:

Uninstall the HP smart app from any one of the devices.

Note: If there are additional printers listed on the HP smart app, they will be deleted)

Restore network settings to default settings - Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel together for 5 seconds and release it. This would erase the old network from the printer and would put the printer in setup mode.

Post that, re-download the HP smart app on your phone , computer, open the app, and click on add printer on top. Select your printer and follow the on-screen instructions to get your printer connected to the network.

Once successfully connected, the wireless light would turn solid blue.

If the steps mentioned above doesn't work try the steps mentioned below:

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your printer and your computer. This can often resolve temporary connectivity issues.

Check Print Queue:

  • Open the Devices and Printers window on your computer.
  • Find your HP Smart Tank 6001, right-click it, and select See what's printing.
  • If there are any stuck print jobs, right-click on them and choose Cancel. Then try printing again.

Set as Default Printer:

  • Ensure that your HP Smart Tank 6001 is set as the default printer:
    • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
    • Click on your printer and select Manage, then click Set as default.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Check if there are any driver updates available for your printer:
    • Go to the HP Support website, search for your model, and download the latest drivers.
    • Install the drivers and restart your computer.

Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP website. This tool can help diagnose and fix common printing issues.

Check Network Connection:

  • Ensure your printer and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. You can print a network configuration page from the printer to check the connection.

Reset the Printing System:

  • In Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, remove your printer.
  • After removing it, restart your computer, then re-add the printer.
