Product: HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-in-One Printer
Operating System: macOS 10.14 Mojave

Tried to print a single simple sign to put on my front door for a party and HP says there's a problem with my account hat i have to resolve before I can print again. Created account and the only issue I see is that the warranty is expired. Does this mean I am required to purchase an extended warranty in order to print with the printer that I purchased from HP and the ink cartridges that I also purchased from HP?

Has the printer been registered for instant ink in the past? If yes and is still registered but the payment method has failed, that would cause this issue.
