After copying 2 of 5 2sided-to-2sided pages from the feeder, the printer started making some unusual noises and would not eject the next page. Finally, page 3 was ejected with nothing on the obverse side. A paper jam message appeared and I opened the access door as instructed. I didn't see any paper jammed inside. I closed the door and checked the back roller cover. Nothing there. I then unplugged the printer (should not have done that). Upon power up, another message appeared telling me not to unplug the printer, but rather to use the power button. I did that revealing the same message and another on that said the printer cartridges could not move. I tried sending a wifi print job from my computer with no success.

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.
I have gone through your post and I'll try my best to help 👍
Are you able to make photocopies?
Please perform a Printer Reset
(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed
Then update the Firmware from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-pro-8620-e-all-in-one-printer-series/5...
Also follow the instructions in Steps 2 & 3 from this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04100779 to follow for Paper Jam and also to clean the rollers
Keep me posted how it goes. Cheers 👍
Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Thanks KrazyToad!
While I was waiting for your response, I manually moved the print heads to the left once again, and voila, there was the paper jam. I cleared it and did a reset per your instructions. Works now. Thanks, too, for the link to update firmware and how to clean the rollers.
