Printer won’t work since cancelling my monthly subscription

18mth old Hp 6000 all in one printer. It’s telling me that it can’t print with the cartridges, which were supplied by Hp. Stopped my monthly subscription about 4 mths ago as I didn’t want this on my direct debits and this printer stopped reacting and printing immediately, am I being sceptical…..the advice  paperwork which keeps printing out tells me to restore payment, but the machine is sending I pad message saying insufficient paper, which is ample in machine.

Error messages are based on the preparedness of the software or application to correctly detect and report the actual cause of the difficulty.  Most programs, given enough lines of code, can be made more accurate in a given situation.  "Enough lines of code" can slow down the software to the point of being just as annoying as the occasional message mismatch.

The Answer

The Ink cartridges supplied during your subscription do not work after that subscription is cancelled

• Remove all the Instant Ink cartridges from the printer
• Purchase and install a new set of HP Ink cartridges
• Return the Instant Ink cartridges to HP

Additional information

This is normal behavior -- you never owned the Instant Ink cartridges.

Ink was part of the service but it is not "free ink" for you to use outside of that service.
