I am using the wireless wizard setup feature and the printer searches for a connection to a router.... my phone is connected to it my computer is connected to it ...no matter how many times I refresh the printer it will not find my router what is the problem

Then plugged everything back in. OF course! Then started wireless wizard...Connected perfectly !

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

 

I understand that you have an HP OfficeJet 4650 All-in-One Printer. I read that you initiated the wireless setup wizard on your printer and it does not find the wifi network. Your phone and computer are well connected to the wifi router.

 

I did some research on this case and found that HP printer wirelessly only via a 2.4 GHz network so please ensure that the wireless signal transmitted is 2.4GHz. 

 

PLease perform the following firmware updates on the printer based on the operating system you're using:

Once the firmware is updated, please run the wireless setup wizard again. If the printer still does not find the wireless network then I suggest to reset the printer. This will completely restore the printer to its original factory settings.  have sent you a private message with the steps to reset the printer.

I unplugged the router, unplugged the printer. Started all over with wireless wizard. Connected perfectly!
