HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2775 All-in-One Printer

I am losing hope.. Why is it so difficult to set up a printer, both wireless and wired? Why do we need to predict the error in printing? I wish it would just tell me what the error is. I have my printer serviced because it wont print anymore... And when it came back after a month, it wouldn't set up, and there are errors I can't figure out. I wasted time to just research in youtube what seems to be the problem...

For such not so techy guys like us, Its really frustrating...

I hope we can make the procedures all easy for everyone...

Hi @Pia28,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

Setting up and troubleshooting printers can indeed be frustrating, especially when errors are unclear and setup processes are complex. Here are some steps you can take to resolve issues with your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2775 All-in-One Printer, whether it’s wireless or wired:

1. Check for Common Setup Issues:

  • Power and Connections: Ensure the printer is properly plugged in and powered on. For wired connections, verify that the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.
  • Network Issues: For wireless setup, make sure your printer and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

2. Use the HP Smart App:

  • The HP Smart app can simplify the setup process and help diagnose issues. Download it from the Microsoft Store (for Windows) or the App Store (for macOS).
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the printer and check for any errors that might be reported by the app.

3. Run the HP Printer Troubleshooter:

  • For Windows:
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
    • Select Printer and run the troubleshooter to identify and fix common issues.
  • For macOS:
    • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
    • Select your printer and click Open Print Queue. Use the HP Printer Utility for diagnostic information.

4. Check for Error Messages:

  • If the printer displays an error message or code, check the printer’s display screen or control panel for any specific messages.
  • Refer to the printer’s manual or HP’s online support for detailed explanations of error codes and how to resolve them.

5. Update or Reinstall Drivers:

  • Ensure you have the latest drivers for your printer. Visit the HP Support website to download and install the most recent drivers for your model.
  • If you have an old driver or corrupted installation, uninstall the printer software from Control Panel (for Windows) or System Preferences (for macOS) and then reinstall the latest version from HP’s website.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

  • Select Restore Defaults or a similar option like Factory Reset. This might be listed under Printer Maintenance or Device Maintenance.

Confirm the Reset:

  • Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm that you want to reset the printer to factory settings.

Wait for the Reset to Complete:

  • The printer will reset and restart. This process might take a few minutes.

Method 3: Using the Printer’s Web Interface (if applicable)

Find the Printer’s IP Address:

  • Print a network configuration page from the printer’s menu to get the IP address.

Access the Web Interface:

  • Enter the IP address into a web browser to access the printer’s web interface.

Navigate to Settings:

  • Look for a section related to Settings, Maintenance, or Administration.

Perform the Reset:

  • Find the option to Restore Factory Defaults or Reset Printer and follow the instructions.

Notes:

  • Backup Settings: Before performing a reset, note any custom settings or configurations you may need to reapply later.
  • Network Configuration: After the reset, you will need to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network or reconfigure any other settings that were customized.

If you encounter any issues, this printer might need replacement.
