Tried rebooting, reinsterting cartridges, and cleaning printerhead, and still no luck. Do I need a new printerhead?

I understand that you are getting a 0xc19a0040 error on your printer, is that right?

Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.

Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you. 

Are you using genuine HP ink?

 

The issue you are facing seems to be a hardware issue with the printer. 

Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable. 

Visit www.hp.com/drivers enter the printer model. 

Download and install the printer firmware on the printer. 

If the issue persists, try a hard reset as suggested in this HP Article and contact our phone support for any service options available.

Thanks for your suggestions. I followed the protocol and ended up contacting phone support.  After consulting with the support person it was determined that, for me, the most efficient and practical solution was to buy a new printer, which I have ordered (8720). The process was fine, with my only gripe being that I have 7 unused (and 4 partially used) ink cartridges that will not be compatible with the 8720. I will find someone to give them to.

Thanks for the reply, recommend you contact our phone support again and let me know that you would like to have the unused ink exchanged to match the new printer and they will be able to guide you.

I kept getting a message that my printheads were damaged or the ink wasn't in correctly.   I USE GENUINE HP INK!!

I went to download the FIRMWARE drive like your article said.  My handle name is FRUSTRATED 1007.  tha't how many people are fed up when things don't work that the tech companies put out there.  All the money your company makes, they "should" do better.   

 

I saw your article and tried to download the FIRMWARE DRIVER.   IT "DID NOT" WORK.

 

GOT TO THE POINT OF IT ASKING ME TO CLICK THE PRINTER I HAVE.   IT WOULD "NOT" LET ME CLICK IN THE BOX. 

IT WILL ONLY LET ME REFRESH OR CANCEL.   

 

 

I don't even know if my attachment worked because it would not let me press DONE!!!!

 

I THINK HP CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS WITH ALL THE MONEY WE GAVE THEM FOR INK OVER THE YEARS!!!

THERE IS NO URL.   AFTER I CLICK THE DOWNLOAD IT COMES UP WITH A BOX THAT STATES IT'S SEARCHING FOR THE PRINTER.   THEN MY PRINTER NAME COMES UP BUT I CAN'T CLICK THE LITTLE SQUARE BOX TO SELCET IT.

 

THIS IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING.  I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON THIS FOR 2 HOURS!@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111
