HP Smart tank Plus 559.  Stopped working.  Switches itself off.  In Settings menu says driver is unavailable.  When switch on manually, doesn't connect.  Tried unplugging and plugging.

Hi @VineHouse,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Smart Tank Plus 559 Printer Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Power Supply:

  • Ensure that the printer is connected securely to a power outlet. Avoid using power strips or surge protectors which may cause power fluctuations.

Update or Reinstall Printer Driver:

  • Visit the HP Support website to download the latest printer driver. Install it and see if the issue persists.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both the printer and the computer. This can help reset connections and clear temporary software glitches.

Check Connection:

  • If using a USB connection, ensure that the cable is securely connected and not damaged.
  • For Wi-Fi connections, verify the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.

Remove and Re-add the Printer:

  • Go to the Devices and Printers section on your computer, remove the HP Smart Tank Plus 559 printer, and then add it back.

Factory Reset:

  • Perform a factory reset on the printer. Instructions can usually be found in the printer’s manual or on HP’s website. This will reset settings to defaults and may solve software-related issues.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Sometimes the printer firmware may need updating to fix bugs. Check on the HP website to see if a firmware update is available for your printer.

I hope this helps.
