My out-of-warranty HP Officejet 6970 is giving me a Printhead Problem error message.  I have unplugged and reset the printer, per the web instructions.  It does not have a latch to manually remove the printhead.  I have tried the Printer Maintenance/Clean Printhead function, but it reverts back to "unsuccessful" and the Printhead Problem message.  Is there any resolution?

@AB-EDUCATE, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check Ink Cartridges

Remove cartridges and inspect them for damage or leaks.

Look for debris in the printhead area and clean gently with a cloth.

Manually Clean the Printhead

If you can access the printhead, wipe it gently with a damp cloth to remove dried ink.

Run Deep Cleaning

On the printer's screen, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance and select Clean Printhead. If that doesn’t work, use the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool on your computer.

Reset the Printer

Turn off the printer and unplug it for 2-5 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Also, you could refer to this guide for further troubleshooting steps: HP Inkjet printers - Printhead errors | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
