This is a brand new, just unpacked HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 Printer. I followed the HP tutorial online for set up, however, I keep getting the message Printhead Problem. No other info on the screen. I removed and reinserted the cartridges several times. The Printhead moves ok so I do not know what to do. I cant even finish my initial set up for it. It seems for the cost of this unit, it would work being brand new. I appreciate all the viable help the community may have to resolve this crazy thing. Thank you in advance. P.S. the unit is connected via USB if that matters. 😉

Thank you. After many hours=days=weeks of stress and trying to communicate with HP Support Care, I have now received a replacement printer and shipped back the faulty one. The replacement printer, although obvious it is NOT new like the original one, works! So yay for that. Thanks again.;)

@RavynQ, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.
I understand you are not able to use the printer due to this error.
Perform the steps mentioned in this document - Printhead errors
Insert one ink cartridge at a time and check for the error. Make sure you are using HP ink cartridges.
If the error persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware issue with the printhead. The printhead in this printer is non-removable.
If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.
