Getting an error message "Problem with printhead". Sounds like I need to repalce my printer. Just want to see if anyone knows anything else I can do before I replace

Hi @Copier-Pro
Thanks for the suggestion, however, the printhead for this printer model is fixed - i.e. not a customer replaceable part.
Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Forums.
If you're seeing that error, there's nothing more you need to do except to contact support for replacement if your printer is still under warranty.
Depending on where you are, please select the appropriate link:

I think it might be worth to remove the printhead and clean it.Clean the contact points and try again. If this still does't do the trick i agree that the printhead will have to be replaced.Hope this will help.
It is so nice to give some help where possible and the forum is a great idea Thank You.Sometimes a picture speaks louder than words to find a solution.Should you find my help use full just give some credit for my effort please.
.Thank You.Copier-Pro

Where are the contact points?
I cleaned the print head before.
The ink thingy says I got a half cartridge of black ink.
Does it sometimes give a false reading. I tried a different cartridge it give a different reading.
I'll try again.
Print head is removable.
Purchased printer in Jan. 2012.
Could I use the printer & print using color only.

I bought my printer,HP Officejet Pro 6975, Jan. of 2018. I have used it very little because it was in my choir room at church, in the basement and we aren't getting internet there and I am on Instant Ink. This past week, I decided to bring it home and use it there. I got the same message, "Printhead Error". I troubleshooted as suggested with no luck. I was going to call support but it is down right now. Obviously, the printer went out of warranty, Jan. 2019. I am very disturbed that I might have to buy a new printer since I have hardly used it. My father bought one a few years back and we got the same error and again it was used very little. He is 93 and my mother 89, so you can imagine the use it got. He was able to get a new printer since his was under warranty. (Last month of warranty). I am wondering if this is an HP problem. Have anyone herd that this is a common problem. I am thinking of not getting this brand again. I cant afford to get a new printer and do not want to buy it again with the problems I have had. Also, if anyone has any thoughts on how to fix it outside of what has already been suggested, I would be greatly appreciative.
