Purchased Envy Photo 7155 since it had a tray for 4x6 size. Went to put in card stock in top tray which indicates 4x6 and will not accept for printing. It tells me to load paper in the tray. It is in the tray.

This is one of those situations where there is a lot of information available - and none of it actually tells you precisely what the printer can do in this situation.
========================================================
Paper Weight
Presumed missing - the allowed / supported paper weight for "card". Yes, I might have missed it.
Based on my not finding the information and assuming this printer is similar to most other printers in this general class, the "card" weight limitations are likely the following:
163 to 200 g/m² (card) (110lb)
"Card" is likely defined as "Index" card.
This distinction is only important if your "card" paper is known to be made from a different ISO media type.
If your card paper is heavier than the weight limitation, it will not work in the printer.

What about paper settings?
Reminders:
- Not all paper can be printed borderless - there are perhaps restrictions on paper size / media type (kind of paper).
- Not all paper can be printed duplex - there are restrictions on size / type.
The instructions for "how-to" load various media start on Page 15
Note that at the end of each instruction set is the reminder to set the paper size / type on the printer control panel.
Paper Setting on Printer Control Panel
Check / Adjust / Retain the Paper at the Printer Panel
Open Printer Tray,
If you have not yet done so, add desired paper type
Close Tray
IF applicable for your printer:
On the printer control panel, Click Modify (wording varies), set the paper size and type, Click OK
NOTE: If the size of the Paper Size is not in the Drop-down list, Select Custom
Set the Preferences - Windows
- The following assumes the Full Feature Software has been installed.
- Check / enable the printer as the “Default Printer”
- Select and adjust settings in each category for the Media (kind of paper), source (tray), and paper size.
Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers > Right-Click on your printer > Set as Default
Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers > Right-Click on your printer > Printing Preferences >
Tab Printing Shortcuts > Click / Highlight preferred shortcut > Click Apply > Click OK to exit
If the printer software supports the feature, change the settings as desired, then use “Save as” to create a Custom Shortcut.
OR
Windows key + S (search for) Printers and Scanners
Left-Click on (your) Printer > Manage >
Printing Preferences
Select a shortcut and / or set “preferred settings” for paper, source (tray), other settings
Optional (if / as supported on the printer): Save As > enter a name for your custom shortcut
Click OK to save the preferences

Paper Trays
It is possible, though again assumed, that the photo tray is ONLY to be used for photo paper. This sounds silly - your Index paper is the same size. Nonetheless, if the photo tray can sense photo paper and it does not like Not-photo paper, you cannot just fool the printer.
What to do?
Remove other paper from main tray, load Index card paper into the main tray, snug the bars to the sides, set the type/size on the printer control panel and in your printing software / application.
