My power light keeps flashing fast and when I go into the HP smart app it says that my door is open but it is not. I have open and shut every door on the printer, I have restarted and unplugged for 1 minute and 5 minutes then plugged it back in but it still will not print. When I tried the HP Print and Scan Doctor it says my top door is open. My machine is a little over a year old for us and it seems like I have to reset it often for random errors but this time I can not get it to work to clear it.

I also tried the virtual assistant but that was no help at all. I'm about ready to pull my hair out and get a new printer but this one isn't that old!

Hi @Tpederson,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds frustrating to deal with these issues on your HP DeskJet 4155e printer. The flashing power light and the persistent "door open" error could indicate a hardware or sensor issue. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.
- Check for Obstructions: Ensure there are no paper jams or any other obstructions inside the printer that might be causing the sensors to misread.
- Inspect Door Sensors: Sometimes, sensors that detect if doors are closed can get stuck or malfunction. Gently clean around the door areas and ensure nothing is blocking the sensors.
- Restart the Printer: You've already tried this, but just to reiterate, turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 1-2 minutes, and then plug it back in. This can sometimes reset the internal sensors.
- Update Firmware: Using the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel (if accessible), check if there's a firmware update available for your printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes fix bugs and improve performance.
- Reset the Printer: There might be a specific reset procedure for your printer model. This can typically be found in the printer's user manual or on HP's support website. Resetting can often resolve persistent issues.
Given that you've already tried many basic troubleshooting steps, it seems like the issue might require more advanced intervention or possibly a hardware inspection.
Hopefully, one of these steps helps resolve the issue so you can get back to printing without further frustration!
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
