I was really wanting to talk with someone in Customer Service, but it doesn't give me the option because the printer we have in our office warranty expired back in 2021. I am trying to print a label template out of word and have it print on the sticker labels we received with the hanging file bins I ordered, but the thing is it isn't a full/standard size of paper that the labels came on and I'm struggling to get my printer/page setup settings to the correct ones to have them print on the provided not full standard paper size sticker labels we received with the product we purchased. It continues to tell me there is no paper in the tray, but I fitted the adjustable things in our printer to the size of the sticker labels and it just won't work. I am beyond frustrated because I have never had this big of trouble trying to print labels at any other job. I know it is probably something simple, but I have tried everything that I can think of. Please help!!! Thank you!!

Hi @misscjb,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I can understand how frustrating this situation is, especially when you're trying to print something as simple as label templates and the printer just won't cooperate. Let's walk through the steps to help you get those sticker labels printed correctly.
1. Set Custom Paper Size in Word
Since your labels are not the full standard size:
- Open your label template in Microsoft Word.
- Go to Layout > Size > More Paper Sizes.
- Enter the exact dimensions of your sticker sheet.
- Save the document with this custom size.
2. Match Printer Settings to Label Size
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your HP printer → Printing Preferences.
- Go to the Paper/Quality tab.
- Select Custom Size and enter the same dimensions as in Word.
- Make sure the paper type matches (e.g., labels or plain paper).
3. Load Labels Properly
- Make sure the adjustable guides in the tray are snug against the label sheet.
- Load the labels face down or face up, depending on your printer’s feed direction.
- Try loading one sheet at a time to avoid misfeeds.
4. Bypass “No Paper” Error
- Try printing a test page with the same custom size.
- If the printer still says “No paper,” it may not be detecting the smaller sheet.
- Try placing a plain sheet behind the label sheet to help it feed.
- Or use the manual feed slot if available.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
