Something has happened.  I read the attachment you sent, and it did not seem to suggest any settings I had not already made.  Then I tried to print a different photo.  It never made it to the printer.  The print queue was stuck on "Printing.  Connecting to the printer."  The HP Smart software shows it is connected to the correct printer.  The printer's control screen was dark, which I think means it is not receiving any kind of signal at all.  I went into System Preferences and Printers and Scanners, and the correct printer was listed.  I rebooted the printer; no effect.  In System Preferences I deleted the printer and tried to add it back.  It got stuck on "setting up your printer."  I rebooted my computer several times.  After about the third reboot, I was finally able to add the printer back as "Secure Air Print."  It still will not print the photo.  I canceled the print queue and tried to print a document.  It will not print either.  Print queue says "waiting to print."  I seem to have lost communication between my laptop and printer.

HELP!

Okay, so I solved yesterday's problem.  Somehow the "share on network" box had become unchecked on the printer settings.  So computer and printer are now communicating again, and I printed a new picture without a problem:  properly centered on the paper and filling out the paper real estate.  Looks like my problem is solved.  Thanks for all your help.
