I print pics all the time from my iPhone 7. However since the latest update I can no longer chose size, color or b/w or photo paper. It is preset for 8.5x11 plain paper. I have done everything I can think of. Plz help! (Why fix what was not broken??)

@ADJC,

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support community!

You can install the HP Smart App on your iPhone, that should give you presets to select size, color, type of paper etc.

Try these steps to install and use the HP Smart App.

Step 1: Go to 123.hp.com from a browser on your phone or tablet and install the HP Smart app.

             The HP Smart app icon

Step 2: Open the App, follow the onscreen instructions and complete the set up by adding the printer. Check this link for further details.

            (Make sure your mobile device and printer are connected to the same wireless network.)

Step 3: Open the picture that you would like to print.

Step 4: In the dialogue box that appears below the HP Printer, the paper size and type would be displayed.

Step 5: Tap on the Paper Size and that would provide you an option to select various presets like paper size, type, color etc.

Select the preset of your choice and try to print.

Let me know if this helps.

Hi Athrava. Unfortunately my phone does not bring up those icons. I have an iPhone 7. What I have learned (thru much time, rude customer service reps & some who do not understand English or who just could not grasp the problem) is since the update my phone is no longer compatible w/ AirPrint. I Can manually put the settings in the printer itself & change it each time I need to.This is a problem as I have a health condition that limits my standing for periods of time - even the fairly short time it takes to do this. I bought this HP Printer because it Was compatable w/ AirPrint on my iPhone & I loved it!! Not sure why something was fixed that wasn’t broken. I have become turned off by HP thru this entire frustrating experience. Thank you for trying to help tho!

@ADJC,

AirPrint does not have the option to change the paper size. HP printers have a paper sensor, AirPrint automatically adjusts the print size to the detected paper.

You may use the steps available in this video to change the paper size using the printer control panel display and the iOS device should detect the new size.

Also, I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
