HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e All-in-One Printer

I just purchased an HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e.  When I go to print a Quicken Secure Plus Wallet Check21 that has only one check left on the page [partial page], after selecting the appropriate settings in the Quicken print window, I receive an error message from the OfficeJet printer citing [Paper Size Mismatch – The paper size detected by the printer does not match the paper size selected (Letter (8.5x11 in.)) for the print job.  Make sure the paper size is correct to continue the print job.]

There is no paper size in the OfficeJet paper size menu that matches the size of the one check partial page.  This was never an issue with my HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless All-in-One Printer - A909g as it synced with the Quicken application and printed partial pages flawlessly.  Your thoughts, please.

Hi @Madsen252, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds frustrating to encounter this issue, especially when your previous printer handled it seamlessly. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the paper size mismatch error with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e:

Check Paper Size Settings
Ensure that the paper size settings in both Quicken and the printer driver match the actual size of the partial page. Sometimes, selecting a custom paper size can help.

Manually Set a Custom Paper Size in the Printer Settings
>Go to Devices and Printers in Control Panel (Windows) or Printers & Scanners (Mac).
>Right-click on the HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e and select Printing Preferences.
>Look for a Custom Paper Size option and enter the dimensions of your partial check page.
>Apply the settings and retry printing.

Use a Full-Sheet Carrier Page
>Since the printer expects a standard Letter-sized page:

>Tape or attach the partial check page to a full-sized blank Letter (8.5x11") sheet and feed it through the printer.
>This should bypass the paper size mismatch detection.

Try Printing as an Image
>In Quicken, export the check to a PDF.
>Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
>Click Print, then select “Print as Image” under Advanced settings.
>This method may trick the printer into processing the check properly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
