In general, the printer is not aware of what it is printing.
The paper size, type, weight, and print surface determines whether the printer will print content on the paper.
This means that generally, at least, printing a photo on a little label is not that different from printing an address (text) on the label.
Matte or Gloss?
The Printer might tolerate printing on clear "matte" labels -- maybe not-so-much on shiny (glossy) labels.
Make sure the printer is clean -- a dirty printer won't print any label paper as well as a clean printer.
Make sure your label sheets are made for an InkJet printer --
- LaserJet paper won't work.
- Paper that claims it can be printed in either Laser or InkJet printers might drag itself through the printer and not align the content onto the little labels correctly.
The printer is tolerant of custom sizes.
That said, a larger label sheet (Letter size) is standard -- if your label sheets are 4x6, that might work, too.
The printer is likely older -- the challenge might be to keep the label sheets from slipping.
Try loading about 5 to 10 sheets of label paper into the printer tray.
Were it mine to do, I'd print just one sheet at a time ...
