Printing from Outlook I can't get image attachments embedded in the email to print.  Used a 4500 series HP printer before and just bought a 9018 but the problems is the same.  The email shows a photo, but when I go to print preview it changes the image to the attachment name with the paperclip icon.  HELP please!

Hi @Cabosher

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

Have you tried downloading the image and then printing?

Meanwhile, try the steps below-

  1. In the message list, click the message that has attachments that you want to print.
  2. Click the File tab.
  3. Click Print.
  4. Under Printer, click Print Options.
  5. In the Print dialog box, under Print Options, select the Print attached files checkbox.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thanks for the suggestion Jay_G24.  Unfortunately, When I click File, Print, I do not have a "Print Options" button.  Did I mention I'm working on a Mac?  I don't see that in my original message.  I download the image before I print, but the printed page just has the paper clip instead of the actual image.  SOOOOOO frustrating.  Thanks, though.

@Cabosher, thank you for the response.

  • It seems like an issue with the application you are using to print and not the printer.
  • Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word or Webpages with images and check if the issue persists?
  • IF you are able to print other documents fine, I suggest you contact Microsoft for further assistance.

Keep us posted.
