I'm hoping someone can help me.
I just got a new computer, and it has windows 11. I"ve installed my old color laser printer, and I"m having a new error.
When I print documents that have any type of photo or image file, the printer is printing a squared background of gray over the background. These images are NOT square, and have an invisible background in the file. They used to print perfectly before, and I've exported my files into numerous file types and programs, and I'm seeing this everywhere.
I've played around with the advanced color settings, and I have managed to get the background very light, but it is still noticeable and detracting from my work. The internet searches I've done seem to indicate a big variety of reasons that could cause this, but I"m at my wits end (and my business is really held up here).
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

What driver did you install?

I installed the NP13D958A driver.
I don't think its the driver, because I also tried to print from my laptop, which still has windows 10 and an older driver on it, and I've had the same issue.
I've been reading further, and see other people have experienced this issue with the printer not being able to deal with transparent backgrounds, especially when they are kept as layered in a document. I was able to resolve the issue only by printing as a full page rastor, but that greatly reduced the quality of the text printing, so while it helped me to identify the issue, it isn't a working solution.
I also printed a pdf that I created years ago with a totally different program. It had the same printing issues now, even though it used to print fine.
Was there a hardware update for this printer?
