Hi @BigJoeBronx, Thank you for your generous offer 🙂

You mentioned you are trying to print from an email. Can you try and print from some other applications to see whether there is an option to print in black ink only?

If the option is not available, the issue might be with the drivers and then we might have to completely reinstall the drivers and check. Go to http://hp.care/2cqTjVI and follow the steps mentioned to uninstall the drivers. Restart your computer and then visit http://hp.care/2cyJALr to download and install the latest drivers for your printer. Then try printing in “Grayscale”.

PS: Your printer supports single cartridge mode. Hence if you want to completely stop printing in color you can take out the color cartridge and use only the black one.

I will watch for your reply.

Cheers 🙂

Thank you for your swift response, it's greatly appreciated.....BUT, "Paper Type/Quality" is NOT an option shown.  I've searched the entire window and hit every button but it doesn't exist.  My OS System is Yosemite OS X 10.10.5.  Any further help will get you into my will.....

In printing a Word doc, I did locate the Paper option and found the Grayscale Option which was GREYED out. I tried to hit the Blank Ink Only but of course it wouldn't activate so I'm following your instructions and deleting the installed drivers and hopefully, installing the correct ones.

Thanks again for your professional expertise and patience.
