Hi

New printer bought last week.  When printing a document it gets to the last line or two and sticks there with the printer screen saying 'printing'.  I wait a bit and eventually press the red X to cancel and the paper feeds out but with the last few lines of print missing.  This has happened with documents from MS Publisher, MS Word, and Google Docs.

Any ideas on what I should do to fix this?

Steve

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.

I understand that you have a new HP OfficeJet 7510 Wide Format All-in-One Printer and does not print correctly. The printer screen says printing but does not print. When you press the X (cancel) button, the paper feeds out with the last few lines of the print missing. I read that this has happened while printing from multiple applications.

Not to worry, I'll do my best to help you with this case.

I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

  • Has the printer not printing correctly from day one or did the issue start later?
  • Is the printer able to make a copy successfully?

Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

If the printer copies fine then please download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor program. This program will identify and fix printer driver issues.

Please feel free to reply with the results. All the best! 🙂

Kazi, thanks for your information.  I will accept this solution as the printer is now printing all lines.  However, I will give more details as it may help HP to fix an issue and it might help other users with similar problems.

Detailed feedback:

  • Tried to copy - worked OK.
  • Disconnected, help power switch, reconnected etc as advised.
  • Tried printing again - still hanging at end/
  • Downloaded and ran HP Print and Scan Doctor.  App said error fixed.
  • Tried to print a test page and the app just hung.
  • After waiting a while I opened Task Manager and the HP app was sat there using 25%+ CPU.  I ended the task.
  • Tried again.  Still wouldn't print test page and hung again.
  • Before reporting back I thought I would try a print one more time and it worked!
  • The HP app was still hanging using a lot of CPU.

So thanks, but a few hiccups along the way.

You're welcome Steve. 🙂

This seems like a corrupted driver issue. I suggest you to uninstall the printer drivers from the root level and then reinstall them using the below steps:

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.

Now, please download and install the drivers from this link

I'm positive that this should fix the issue completely. Keep me posted. Cheers!
