When I print an email from my Note 9 using Samsung plug in or direct, it doesn't print header containing from, to, subject, and most importantly, the email's date. Since I often need to document the date, I end up handwriting it on the printed email. It appears my only option is to save it as a pdf before printing and then print as a pdf. This is an extra step and clutters up the storage on my phone with unnecessary files. Is there a setting I'm missing or is it simply not possible for the printed email to contain date and other important info?

This is honestly not really a printing question but a phone setting. You may be limited by the program you are using for email and a trip to an android support forum might provide better results. Have you tried using the screenshot function on the phone which would probably be quicker than saving as PDF and then printing.
