Are you changing the paper size on both the program and the printer. When you load 4x6 you need to set the printer tray paper size to match the loaded paper.

Yes. I set both the tray and the the paper size to 3 x 5 in printer properties and page setup. I also choose 3 x 5 index card in my Word document. I used to be able to print the cards with no problem. I do not know what changed or when, but suddenly I can not print cards on thick paper. (i choose plain paper, thick)
