Whenever I print on my thin specialty paper, the print job positioning is off. It looks like it's feeding the paper wrong. It will print 1cm before or after the page starts. it's not much thinner than average printing paper, but it is a pretty smooth texture. It only happens with this paper. both cardstock and regular office paper works fine. Any tips on setting I can try or troubleshooting?

@molson91 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the printer printing position is off!.

Is this happening while making the photocopy?

Please perform the hard reset and check.

  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

  5. Wait at least 60 seconds.

  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

  9. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed

Please refer to the below link to troubleshoot the issue.

6.       Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.

7.       Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.       Click on the “Drivers” tab

9.       Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.   Select Ok

11.   Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.   Close Devices and Printers, restart the computer.

Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.

no, it only happens with 1 type of paper. there is nothing wrong with the printer, I was wondering if there are settings to work with slicker paper.

I understand your concerns.

What is the size and weight of the sticker you are using?

According to the printer specification. This printer will not support the sticker.

Please check the paper type and paper weight. Use the supported media only.

Have a nice day!!
