HP Smart Tank 7305 All-in-One

Hi,

My printer prints a few lines of code on each page instead of the requested document.

The printer empties my sheet tray by printing a few lines of code on each sheet.
I reinstalled the printer and the problem was solved, but it came back some time later.
Can anyone help me solve this problem?
Thanks

@DEVLD, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Printer Printing Random Code Instead of Documents!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

This issue usually happens when:

  1. Incorrect Printer Drivers – If the wrong driver is installed or corrupted, the printer may not interpret the document correctly.
  2. Print Spooler Errors – A stuck or corrupted print job might be causing the issue.
  3. Incorrect Printer Language – Some printers default to PCL or PostScript, leading to misinterpretation.
  4. Faulty Connection – If the USB or network connection is unstable, data might be getting corrupted.

Troubleshooting Steps:

Cancel Print Jobs & Restart the Printer

  1. Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click on your HP Smart Tank 7305 and select See what's printing.
  3. Click Printer > Cancel All Documents and confirm.
  4. Restart the printer and try printing again.

Check Printer Driver & Reinstall

  1. Press Win + R, type devmgmt.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Expand Print queues, right-click your printer, and select Uninstall device.
  3. Go to HP’s official website, download the latest drivers for your printer, and install them.

Change Printer Language (If applicable)

  1. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click your printer and select Printer Preferences.
  3. Look for an option related to Printer Language (PCL or PostScript).
  4. Change the setting and test print.

Check Connection (USB or Network)

  • If using USB, try a different port or cable.
  • If using Wi-Fi, ensure the connection is stable and the printer is not switching networks.

Let me know if the issue persists after these steps! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
