Printer was printing perfectly from Chrome by using the up arrow, or ‘print’ fast and quick. Since I downloaded the print anywhere functionality I now have to select an option ‘Print anywhere’ and then print through the app. But this takes longer and does not offer the functionality to remove pictures etc as offered when printing direct from the Chrome browser page. Help! Do I need to delete the print anywhere functionality and go back to my initial way of printing?
I thought the HP print anywhere option would complement existing print options, not remove them and create more steps/remove functionality!
thanks

Hi @Hell000,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing some frustration with the HP Print Anywhere functionality affecting your printing experience. Here are some insights and steps you can consider to potentially resolve the issue:
Understanding HP Print Anywhere
HP Print Anywhere is designed to allow you to print from anywhere using the HP Smart app, even when you're not at home or in the office. It's meant to be a convenient feature for remote printing. However, it does require you to use the HP Smart app to initiate and manage your print jobs.
Addressing the Issue
Direct Printing from Chrome:
- If you prefer the simplicity and functionality of printing directly from Chrome without going through the HP Smart app, you can continue to do so. You may need to adjust your print settings in Chrome to ensure it uses your local printer instead of attempting to use HP Print Anywhere.
Disabling HP Print Anywhere:
- If you find that HP Print Anywhere is adding unnecessary steps or removing functionality that you rely on, you can consider disabling or uninstalling the HP Smart app or the Print Anywhere feature.
- On Windows: Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features, find HP Smart in the list, click on it, and then click Uninstall.
- On macOS: Drag the HP Smart app from the Applications folder to the Trash.
Using Default Print Options:
- Ensure that your default printer settings in Chrome (or any other browser you use) are set to your local printer. This will bypass any attempts to use remote printing features.
Adjusting Print Settings:
- In Chrome, when you go to print (using Ctrl + P or the print icon), make sure you select your local printer from the destination options. You should see your printer listed there as long as it's connected and recognized by your computer.
Final Steps
- After making adjustments, test printing from Chrome again to see if the issue is resolved and if you regain the functionality you prefer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
