Recently bought a HP 4520. However when I print an image there is too much yellow and the image therefore prints incorrectly - faces, clothes and other colours that require yellow.
It is the same whether I use normal or best quality. While I am testing, I am using normal white paper - the photo paper is very expensive for testin!
I canot find anything to set image colours.
Any ideas how to solve the problem?
Thanks in advance.

Hi @facetious,
Thanks for posting your question in the HP Community. Good Day. 🙂 Hope you are doing well. 🙂 I understand clearly that you need assistance with print quality issues with the printer that prints too much yellow. I will be delighted to assist you here. 🙂
You are a valued HP customer and we appreciate you greatly for doing business with HP. I have reviewed the situation and it is paramount that we address your issue. Thank you for giving us the privilege to assist you on this platform. 🙂 You’ve done awesome diagnosis and some smart troubleshooting also before posting your query. Brilliant stuff. 🙂 Kudos to you for that. 🙂
First off, it needs to be established if the issue is hardware or software related.
Please make a copy directly from the printer without any communication from the computer.
- Please try to make a few copies directly from the printer without any intervention from the computer. Please place the required document face down on the flatbed scanner and touch the copy button. If it copies fine, then the issue could be software related.
If it copies fine please visit this link for further assistance: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-ENVY-4520-All-in-One-Printer-series/5447920/model/5447921/doc...
If does not copy correctly, try with another set of cartridges. If that does not work, then the issue is hardware related. Please contact HP phone support to get the unit serviced or replaced. If the unit is under warranty, then the manufacturer’s warranty should take care of services for you. Link: http://hp.com/contacthp
Please select the country and type the product# of the unit. Then follow the on-screen instructions to contact HP phone support.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Please reach out for any issues and I'll be there to assist you .:)

I should add that if I scan the image with too much yellow, the scan comes out about the correct colour without adjusting the contrast or brightness.
Most percular!
Just had a thought and printed to a PDF file. The colours are fine.

I have just printed a new image and again there is too much yellow. The pavement is meant to be a light grey but when printed with my HP Envy 4520, the pavement is a light shade of yellow. The rest of the image has a yelowish tinge.
How can I adjust the colour in HP??????????????

If this issue cannot be resolved by 5 days before Christmas (20th December 016), I will be returning the HP Envy printer to the shop that sold it to me as "not functioning correctly" and purchase another make of printer.
I do not use a printer very much but currently, I want to print a number of colour photos/images.
Regards
facetious.

Yes, even the copier copied with too much yellow - I will be returning the printer tomorrow for a full refund and purchase a different printer. I feel I cannot trust HP any more - the software or hardware issues are nt my problem they are HP's problem, and not knowing if other of the HP line have the same issues I cannot purchase another HP product.
Thanks for your help.
