Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Networked Laserjet M118/119 has just started printing a current job over another job that was several months old.  Unable to purge the old job and all HP troubleshooting tools show everything is fine.  The old job is not showing in the print queue, printer has been turned on an off multiple times. This is not a watermark, the two jobs are printing on top of one another.  The old job is double-sided and everything is coming out double-sided, even if I select single sided.  How can I purge the old job?

Welcome to HP Support Forum. I think you need to remove the queue. For Windows, please try:

  • Hold down the Windows key and press R.
  • From the Run window, type services.msc and hit enter.
  • If the machine asks for Admin you have to accept this,
  • Look down to the print spooler service, right click it and select properties
  • Click on the Stop button,
  • Browse to C:\Windows\System32\Spool\printers or C:\Windows\System\Spool\printers (this may be hidden)
  • Delete the job inside this folder
  • Reboot the machine

Regards.

Thanks BanHein - unfortunately, no love.  When I drilled down into the print spooler it showed the folder was empty already.  I rebooted and the issue is still present.  Note, I also tried to print using the USB cable and the issue presented in that mode as well.  JeffEV

For the benefit of the HP Community - BH's kind suggestion did not work, so I called customer support and the fix turned out to be to clean the drum using the app function on the laptop.  HOWEVER, THERE WAS AN ANOMALY WE HAD NOT NOTICED BEFORE AND WHICH IS NOW DOCUMENTED - THE BACKGROUND DOCUMENT WAS A FORM FROM METLIFE AND SOME OF THE PAGES PRINTED OUT BY THE LASERJET M118-119 HAD THE METLIFE LOGO IN BLUE AND GREEN COLOR, AS WELL AS A BLUE BORDER ON A TEXT BOX ON ANOTHER PAGE, AND A BLUE HYPERLINK ON A THIRD PAGE.  The M-118 has black toner only and we verified that I was not "recycling" previously printed sheets of paper.  Happy to provide pictures of this crazy anomaly if helpful.  The issue is now resolved, but regretfully my M-118-119 is back to only being a grayscale printer!
