Prints pdf from desktop but not from email

I am helping a friend with HP Deskjet 4100 all-in-one  I see requested print jobs from email in que but they will not print. I can delete and print from pdf on desk too but not from friends email   Will HP Smart help me with this situation? What other steps do you suggest ?

HP Smart (application) for Windows / Mobile is able to Share to email.

Safari (Mobile app) and iOS Mail can select from those destinations connected to the device (tablet, phone).

Applications, Software, and Browsers in Windows work similarly -- the destination must be amongst those connected to the device (computer) and the destination must be set as the printer.

The friend's Operating System / version is missing from your description --

In general, opening and reading an email in a browser might also be printed if the browser supports the task AND if the printer is recognized and selected in the browser's Print settings Destination.

What else?

Opening an email in an application requires that the email application is aware of the printer.

"Aware" in Windows might mean having installed the full driver printer software on the computer where the email application is opened.

In general, the rules for printing an email opened in an application or email software are the same --

The app / software must be able to interface with the printer and the the printer must be the selected destination.
