see if you can get a better error message using EWS

Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

 

Please provide the Product ID or exact model name for better assistance. 

 

If you have the "E" series printer they need to have an internet connection and the correct ink else they only print status reports.

From EWS:

 

Product Name: HP LaserJet M102w (Thought this would show up in the original posting)

Formatter Number:  VNB3852108

 

It will print a "Configuration Report", but nothing looks out of order.

Event log notes "Non-Hp Black Cartridge", but I get the same behavior from the HP cartridge I'm replacing due to low ink.

All i can think of is 

1 - printer problem 

Unplug printer from the wall outlet.

If the power cord has a transformer (wall wart) unplug from the printer also.Press the power button 2-3 times to discharge residual electricity. Wait 60 second then plug back in.

 

2 - PC problem:  printer queue stuck and your print jobs are piling up behind the one that is stuck.

I looked a the your printer firmware and did not see any indication the printer would not work with non-hp cartridges.

Thanks..:  did the power cycle routine you mentioned...

 

I have opened the print queue (Windows 11) and can watch the job enter and leave when it is sent, so nothing backing up there.

 

Maybe I'll try to add the printer to a different PC...

Well doggone..!  printer works fine on a different PC running Windows 10.
