Hi @ClapperChiro

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

The "Ink System Failure" error on HP printers can be frustrating, but it's often fixable.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Ensure you're using the correct and compatible ink cartridges for your printer model.
  • Remove the cartridges and inspect them for damage or leaks. Clean the contacts gently with a lint-free cloth if needed.
  • Reinsert the cartridges securely.

Clean the Printhead:

  • If your printer has a removable printhead, take it out and clean it with a damp, lint-free cloth.
  • Let it dry completely before reinserting it.

Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a factory reset by navigating to the printer's settings menu. Look for "Restore Factory Defaults" or a similar option.

Update Firmware:

  • Check for firmware updates on the HP Support website and install the latest version for your printer.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool. It can diagnose and fix common printer issues.
