HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer

I keep getting "Problem with Supply System" after changing the cyan ink as requested to a brand new cartridge and doing all the suggestions of turning off, unplugging, checking cartridge, etc. and still the same message.  Is it time to replace my printer?

@KathlynH, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you are encountering a "Problem with Supply System" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 after replacing the cyan ink cartridge and following initial troubleshooting steps, you can try the following additional solutions:

Use Genuine HP Supplies: Ensure that you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Non-HP cartridges may not be compatible with your printer.

Clean the Cartridge and Printer Contacts: Sometimes, ink or debris on the cartridge or printer contacts can cause errors. Carefully clean the contacts with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.

Reset the Printer:

  • With the printer on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait for 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the printer.
  • Turn the printer back on.

Re-seat the Ink Cartridges: Remove the cartridges and reinstall them to ensure they are seated correctly in their respective slots.

Firmware Update: Ensure your printer firmware is up to date. You can check for updates via HP’s support site or the printer’s control panel.

Replace the Cartridge: If possible, try using another new cyan cartridge to rule out a defective cartridge.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
