ENVY 7855
macOS 10.14 Mojave

I Can connect to my HP Envy 7855 via a browser to the Embedded Web Server from MAC OS X Sierra and Mojave.  However I Can Not print.  This problem comes and goes.  Here are my printer settings and Router Settings.

Asus AC-3100 Router Settings:  2.5GHz is set up for 20/40 MHz Bandwidth, Control Channel 1, WPA2 Authentication, AES Encryption, 5GHz and 2.5GHz have seperate SSIDs, Envy 7855 shows connected to the 2.5GHz wireless network.

Envy 7855 Settings: Hostname HP6586D1, Static IP 192.168.1.64, Sub Mask 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.1.1, DNS is set manually (per a post I saw) Primary 8.8.8.8, Secondary 8.8.4.4, Channel = 1, Wireless signal quality is 5=High, WPA Version=WPA2, Encryption=AES, Wireless Band Frequency = 2.5GHz and 5GHz (Mojave is on 5GHz, Sierra is on 2.5GHz during testing), WiFi Direct is On and set to DIRECT-D2-HP ENVY Photo 7800 (My iPhone X can't find any AirPrint Printers either).

From my router I can ping 192.168.1.64 successfully.  From each Mac I can ping 192.168.1.64 successfully.

Why can I connected to the embedded Web Server directly at 192.168.1.64, ping the printer from both Macs, but can't print from either MAC?  Both of my MACs have had the drivers for 7855 downloaded and installed.  It is as if I can't use Bonjour but can always connect directly to the printer via 192.168.1.64.

HELP!!!!

@pmonte,

Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support community!

It's possible that the wireless router is blocking or not able to forward the multicast packet (Bonjour).

Multicast packet (Bonjour) allows Apple devices to locate the printer on a WiFi network.

Please contact your internet service provider or router manufacturer and check if the router is able to forward the multicast packet.

If the router is able to forward Bonjour packets then try the following steps:

1.) Use the steps available here to update software on Mac. (Ignore this if you have already installed the latest OS X version).

2.) Use the steps available here to update the printer firmware.

Once you update Mac and printer firmware, restart printer and Mac and then try to print. If the issue persists, try the steps available here.

Let me know how it goes!

Hi Arthava,

Somewhere between when I posted this issue and before your response, my printer started working again.

What I can tell you is Bonjour isn't being blocked by my router.  When I was troubleshooting this issue, I could ping the printer IP from my Mac, I could access the printer via a browser, and I could access the printer via https://workgroup.local./#hId-pgAirPrint which uses Bonjour.

Your link below to update my Mac actually shows me the procedure to update my iPhone.  I did update my Mac Printer Drivers but can you verify that this printer supports Mac OS X Mojave Version 10.14.3?

Also, my printer driver is at the latest which is showing 3.6.1 and firmware is showing PALSUPPPXN003.1904C.00.

I'll keep you posted if this issue returns.

@pmonte,

Your HP Envy Photo 7855 printer is compatible with the OS X Mojave version.

Great to hear that the printer is working again. Try using the printer and if you do require any further assistance, please feel free to reach us again.

Cheers!

Hi Atharva,

I'm still experiencing intermittant printing issues.  Sometime I clear them by turning the printer wireless off and then on again.

Today I had a flashing error 89E60250 along with a flashing power button icon, as well as the home, ?, and back indicators were flashing.  Any idea what this is?
