When trying to print, the paper is having trouble going through the feed  ( the one with the wheels on it ). So I bought another feed. Still same problem.

Hi @FreshSt,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 is experiencing paper feed issues, even after replacing the feed mechanism. Here are a few steps you can try to further troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Even if you don't see paper stuck inside, small bits of paper or debris can interfere with the feed. Open the printer and check the paper path thoroughly. Also, check the rear access door and paper trays for any hidden jammed paper.

Clean the Feed Rollers:

  • Dust or paper fibers on the rollers can cause slippage and feeding problems. Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water to clean the rollers (the rubber wheels that pull the paper). Let them dry before using the printer again.

Ensure Correct Paper Type and Size:

  • Make sure the paper loaded into the tray is the correct size and type for your printer. Also, confirm that the paper is aligned properly and that the tray is not overfilled.

Adjust the Paper Guides:

  • Check that the paper guides in the tray are snug against the paper without bending it. If the guides are too loose or tight, the paper may misfeed or jam.

Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a hard reset to clear any temporary errors. Turn off the printer, unplug it for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Try Different Paper:

  • If you're using a thick or textured paper, try switching to regular printer paper to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, the paper can cause the rollers to slip or have trouble feeding.

Firmware Update: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, paper feed issues can be fixed with a software update.

Inspect the New Feed Mechanism:

  • Double-check that the replacement feed assembly you installed is compatible and installed correctly. Ensure that no parts were damaged during installation.

I hope this helps.
