My OS is Mac Ventura 13.6.9  and I have a Deskjet 4155e.  It keeps printing an alignment page after every copy.  Any suggestions?  I believe the software already updated when I opened the HPSmart app to troubleshoot.  I have a wireless connection.

Hi @teacherpeep57,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I understand that you are having issues with the random printing.

If your HP DeskJet 4155e is printing an alignment page after every copy, even though the software is up-to-date, it might be related to the printer's settings or a potential issue with the alignment process. Here are some steps to help you resolve this issue:

1. Check Printer Settings:

  • Printer Menu:
    • Navigate to your printer’s menu on the control panel (if available) and look for settings related to alignment or calibration.
    • Disable any setting that forces the printer to print alignment pages after every copy or print job.

2. Reset the Printer:

  • Power Cycle:
    • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Factory Reset:
    • Check the printer's manual or HP support documentation for instructions on how to perform a factory reset. This can often resolve persistent issues by reverting all settings to default.

3. Reconfigure Wireless Connection:

  • Reconnect Printer:
    • Open the HP Smart app on your Mac.
    • Go to Printers > Printer Settings and check the connection status.
    • If needed, reconfigure the wireless settings or reconnect the printer to your network.

4. Update or Reinstall Printer Software:

HP Smart App:

  • Ensure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed from the Mac App Store.

Reinstall HP Printer Software:

  • Uninstall the current HP printer software from Applications.
  • Download and reinstall the latest driver and software for macOS Ventura from the HP Support website.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @teacherpeep57,

Please find the remaining steps below.

5. Check Printer Firmware:

  • Firmware Update:
    • Use the HP Smart app or visit the HP support website to check if there’s a firmware update available for your DeskJet 4155e.
    • Install any available updates as they can fix bugs and improve performance.

6. Inspect and Clean Printer Components:

  • Ink Cartridges:
    • Check that the ink cartridges are properly installed and not low on ink.
  • Printer Cartridges:
    • Remove and reinstall the ink cartridges to ensure they are seated correctly.
  • Printer Rollers and Paper Path:
    • Ensure there are no obstructions or debris in the paper path.

7. Check Alignment Settings:

  • Alignment Pages:
    • If your printer is repeatedly printing alignment pages, it might be due to an alignment issue.
    • Ensure you follow the alignment instructions correctly, and avoid manually interrupting the alignment process.

If you’re still experiencing issues after these steps, there might be an underlying hardware problem or a more complex software issue.

If none of these solutions work, contact HP Phone Support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
