I replaced the black ink cartridge today (with a genuine HP cartridge) in my HP Envy 4500 printer. The printer printed the alignment page, I scanned it and the printer indicated it was aligned & good to go. When I tried to print from my laptop, the printer appeared offline. I reset the WiFi on the printer more than once but the laptop still saw it as offline so I rebooted the laptop and the printer. The printer will not come back on and displays this error code. I've tried the unplugging suggested in earlier posts and nothing works.
HP - Why is this happening with printers after an ink cartridge is replaced and the alignment is successful? I am not the only one reporting this scenario.

I have had this same identical problem to happen twice with HP printers that I had lightly used at my home office and to an HP all in one Printer, Fax ,Scan. I have also had two HP flat bed scanners to suddenly stop working. All of these failures seemed to coincide with an auto-update or online support. It appears that HP's printers are designed to fail after a short period so that you will have to buy a replacement.
This year my replacement was an Epson WorkForce all in one Printer Fax Scanner. It was easy to set up, works great and I am really pleased with it. I checked reviews on Epson printers prior to purchase and everyone seems to be happy with them.
I suggest that you do the same and try another printer brand. Epson, Cannon and other brands have much better reviews, when it comes to reliability, than HP.
