Hi. I am having the same issue with my HP Envy Photo 7858. Could you please help me bypass the setup carriages?

Hi.

My HP Envy Photo 7858 is showing the following error code: “Use SETUP cartridges that came with your printer.” Is there a way that I can bypass the need for setup cartridges or purchase them somewhere? They are missing.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

 

The setup ink cartridges are not available in local stores. We need to perform a reset in order to bypass the use of setup ink cartridges.

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.
  • I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

How do I get the setup cartridges or get around using them. I have read these links but do not have any real answers about how to bypass this.

@Ellie35, that's unfortunate. If you are not able to access the home screen of the printer by bypassing the error, please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
