Keep receiving Error message after replacing Magenta cartridge 2 times.

If your HP Officejet Pro 8615 e-All-in-One Printer displays a "Cartridge problem Magenta replace with new cartridge" error message after replacing the magenta cartridge multiple times, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

Verify Cartridge Compatibility

  1. Check Cartridge Number: Ensure the cartridge number matches the compatible cartridges for your printer model and your country/region.
    • Compatible cartridges for HP Officejet Pro 8615 include: HP 950, HP 951, HP 950XL, HP 951XL.

Install Genuine HP Cartridges

  1. Use Genuine HP Cartridges: If you haven't already, replace the magenta cartridge with a genuine HP cartridge. Non-HP or refilled cartridges may not function correctly.
    • Purchase replacement cartridges from the HP Store or local retailers.

Update Printer Firmware

  1. Update Firmware: Make sure the printer firmware is updated to the latest version.
    • From the printer control panel:
      1. Navigate to Setup > Maintenance > Firmware > Check.
      2. Follow the instructions to update if an update is available.
    • Alternatively, you can update the firmware through the HP Smart app or the HP Software and Driver Downloads website.

Check for Leaks and Clean Contacts

  1. Check Cartridge for Leaks: Open the cartridge access door and inspect the magenta cartridge for any signs of leaking. Replace the cartridge if it is leaking.
    • If the cartridge is not leaking, proceed to clean the electrical contacts.
  2. Clean Electrical Contacts:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
    • Open the cartridge access door.
    • Remove the magenta cartridge.
    • Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge.
    • Allow to dry for a few minutes before reinserting the cartridge.
