I have a Smart Tank plus 651. It has cartridges you fill, not replace. As far as I can tell, you cannot get the cartridges out of the printer. I'm getting this error that will not go away even after restart:
Remove and reinstall the indicated print cartridge, making sure that it is correctly installed.
- Although it says "the indicated print cartridge", it does not appear to give me any indication of a print cartridge.
- The home page of the app also says Cartridge Problem without telling me which cartridge
- I FINALLY got the information in the app when I attempted to update the firmware. I navigated to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings > Tools: Tri-color Cartridge: Cartridge Problem
- The error appeared half way through a print job.
- All the tanks are about half full.
I've gotten this error in the past and was able to clear it by opening and closing all of the ink ports. I tried that several times this time and it did not work.
I attempted these fixes, in order:
- Open, then close all of the ink ports
- Turn the printer off, then back on
- Hard reset (remove power cable for >1 minute and then plug in)
- Firmware update (firmware is up-to-date)

Hi @sandytech20, I am not able to complete the steps in the article because 1) my printer has none of the cartridges shown on the page (since it is a tank printer), and 2) my model number is not listed on the page (651). I'll check my messages.

Unfortunately, the service won't let me place a call, Out of Warranty Phone Support,This service is temporarily unavailable. (this temporary condition seems to be kind of permanent considering I couldn't get it to work last week either). I also tried the chat bot before writing the original post so I know that it will be of absolutely no help. The bot repeatedly insists on telling me to replace the tanks on my tankless printer.
